What The Hell is Going On?

Boy, Pepsi sure has been getting a lot of attention from me lately. I assume that this is somehow connected to the recent news that Pepsi is going to be rolling out a version of its cola later this year that uses cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Although, this seems to go a step or two further by swapping out a few more ingredients for more natural alternatives, at least, if the bottle is to be believed.

Much as I detest the new Pepsi logo (as I’ve mentioned numerous times before), I have to say the design of this bottle is very pleasant, and the logo actually looks pretty good as an all white mark, as well as an embossed shape on the bottle. Perhaps there’s something to it after all when it’s used right. Hit the jump to have a look at the bottle design for Pepsi RAW, the variant I mentioned in the beginning of the post. It’s right on the edge of being a little too “Xtreme” for my taste, but it’s subtle enough that I’m willing to wait until I have it in hand to pass judgement.

You’ll notice the Pepsi RAW uses the old logo.

But I gotta say, I love the treatment to the typeface on the Pepsi Natural bottle. I’m looking forward to purchasing a bottle, drinking it, getting sick from it, and having the bottle to keep forever and ever :] Yay.

  2. Ate the risk of sounding like a poo-pooer. This just misses the mark for me. Like wal-mart trying to sell gucci. Just give me my pepsi in a pepsi can or bottle and don’t put high fructose in it.

I bet they are going to charge up the ying yang for it too. Corn commodities are through the roof. Pepsi, I’m on to you! You aren’t trying to help me be healthier, you are just realizing that sugar is now cheaper and charging me more!

I won’t fall for it – unless you sell me Dr. Pepper ‘raw’. Then you can have my wallet.
